Quotes on Coeur D'or (IRE)
He's a tough, very genuine, game horse,. In his younger days he was a very immature horse so I gave him a lot of time and it all paid dividends. He loves to come from off the pace and he's very consistent. He ran very well in the Nasrullah (when third at Leopardstown), he was only beaten over a length. Ground-wise he's pretty versatile but he doesn't want extremes, he wouldn't handle very soft or very firm. The Northfields Handicap here on Champions Weekend will be his next race. After Coeur D'or (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Sat, 26th Aug 2023 1m Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on I Am Superman (IRE)
I'm delighted with that, it's his eighth career win,. Colin said he hated the ground but being big and strong he managed to get through it and get home. He's a very good horse on his day. From the back end of last year I've had the Buckingham Palace Stakes in my head for him. It's seven furlongs at Royal Ascot where they'll go a lick. He is a group horse and I don't imagine he'll go up for that as he was 3 or 4lb well in anyway. I'll probably keep him fresh between now and then, he runs very well fresh. He owes us absolutely nothing, he's had us all the way around the world. He's eight years of age but he's only had 37 runs. Jim's horse kept him honest there. Colin was delighted with him, he said he just took a little blow coming to the line. Today was the plan, ground or not. It's the same as a bit of work at home and we're running for a bit of prize-money. We think seven furlongs is probably his optimum trip, he gets a mile as well but more so around a bend. He can go left and right-handed. The only question I have is up a straight but he was placed at the Curragh over seven as a two-year-old. Seven furlongs on a straight would be his ideal trip, a mile at Ascot would stretch him. He's in the Summer Mile at the Curragh but he'll probably skip that and we'll keep him fresh. After I Am Superman (IRE) finished 1st at Gowran Park on Thu, 9th May 2024 7f Flat Soft

Quotes on Booyea (IRE)
The easiest part was looking at him out there. He's a real handful as you can see with him coming in there now. We had some job tacking him up. I wasn't on the ball today, I should have had earplugs or something on him. He got really upset before the race and I honestly thought that was it, race over. Fair play to him he's a good horse., he's tough. He's very revved, that's the way he is. He actually hasn't been that revved in a long time, last year he was very difficult but he settled down a lot and we thought we were past all that. He got very revved up today but I suppose it is Derby Day. Like I say I just wasn't thinking ahead. It fantastic, we had a winner at this meeting on the Saturday last year. To have a winner at the Curragh is fantastic anyway and on Derby Day is even extra. After Booyea (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Sun, 30th Jun 2024 1m Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on Blues Emperor (IRE)
The horses are all going well. We worked them all on Tuesday and their scopes were clean and bloods were good. We had two fancied horses coming here today. On home work Rahmi (fourth) is a flashy worker but this horse when you get him to the races, and he gets into that rhythm, he’s hard to pass. That bit of rain we’ve had the last few days suited him. A stiff mile here is good for him, he’s very brave and when he gets to the front he doesn’t like being passed. He’s entered in Leopardstown for the mile and one (Nasrullah Handicap) and will probably go there and Rahmi might go to Galway. After Blues Emperor (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Sun, 2nd Jul 2023 1m Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on This Songisforyou (USA)
It has been a long road, he didn't make the breeze-ups due to a niggly problem and we had him in training last year as well. We decided to keep him for a bumper and with his pedigree, he was always going to be a good ground horse. I told Michael (Mee) during the Punchestown festival that this was your four-year-old festival horse for Galway, so it is great to be proven right. We kept Crowns Major last year, who had been through a breeze-up, and it worked as we were able to go back to the Flat. That's another avenue as this horse can now go back to the Flat without leaving behind a bumper. There is a winners' bumper here on Sunday for which he'll get an entry tomorrow and knowing the owners, he could be tackling the 1m4f mile maiden here next year. He is a very talented horse, has plenty of gears and has jumped as a three-year-old.After This Songisforyou (USA) finished 1st at Galway on Mon, 25th Jul 2022 2m Bumper Yielding

He said he hated the tacky ground. He doesn't do a stroke, he was looking at everything but he'll get there. That was only his third run and I'm delighted with him,. Quotes on Lady Lunette (IRE)
That's was great, that's my biggest win and it was some pot to win. I'm thrilled with her altogether. Colin said the more trouble she got into the more she came back on the bridle, it probably suited her. I think that kind of race suits her, when she finds trouble in-running. It was a help to her not getting there too soon. I didn't think she was unlucky in Limerick (second), I thought she was out in the clear long enough and I was disappointed she didn't pick up. She obviously was better today. The handicapper is after giving her a chance, she's back under her last winning mark there which was probably a help to her. She had a nice weight on her back today and likes a bit of nice ground. The way the race fell for her suited her. Galway would be the plan. Colin said she'd probably stay further, she could go a mile and two. It's a mile in Galway, but it's such a big pot. That would probably be the plan, we'll talk to the owners and see what they want to do.After Lady Lunette (IRE) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Thu, 11th Jul 2024 1m 1f Flat Hcap Good

Off a strong tempo I was able to get the gaps and she quickened up well. She pricked her ears in front and had a blow so there should be plenty of improvement. Quotes on Current Option (IRE)
Class is permanent and form is temporary! It's been a while since he won but he ran a great race in the premier handicap at Cork (last month), where he finished fourth,. We ran him in the Curragh the last day where he was drawn right out on the wing and he got very upset in the stalls and he ran very freely. He was in good form and we just felt that Fairyhouse would suit him, around a bend, that he'd be able to relax and drop it, which he did. Adam gave him a good ride, he was very cool on him. The plans for the boys are that they're always over for the end of July and that's where he'll go. I'll see what the handicapper gives him and we'll try and get him into those two big handicaps in Galway. If he's going to get in off his current mark I'll leave him but if not I might have to run him again. He's a horse of a lifetime and you just don't get many horses like him. After Current Option (IRE) finished 1st at Fairyhouse on Fri, 7th Jun 2024 7f Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on Brave Troop (IRE)
I'm delighted to get my first winner, it's been a long time coming and a lot of hard work. I'm very fortunate that I got a job working for Michael and Ruth Foley at Old Leighlin Stables. I'm only in the job a couple of weeks and I've around ten horses in. I'm very grateful for their support. This is a nice horse to have. He's quirky and kicked the box the whole way from Carlow, but he's tough and we'll find something at Galway for him. He wouldn't want the ground any quicker than this. I thought the horse (Mythical Rock) in the maiden was going to be my first winner, I was walking in thinking he had it, but he's run a blinder (in second) and has really come on for his first run. He's another nice horse to have in the yard. I was head lad for Emmet Mullins for two years and then I pre-trained for Jessie (Harrington) for two years as well. Ruairi Devine works with me in the yard and has 20 years experience in the game, so lot of credit goes to him. After Brave Troop (IRE) finished 1st at Ballinrobe on Mon, 24th Jun 2024 1m 1f Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on Fratas (IRE)
we've known for a while that she's a good hurdler, That's tough going out there and she'd be better on better ground - she'd be able to bowl along and show more. She's very quick and fast over them and we're going to have to give her a little break now but we'll probably head for Leopardstown at Christmas. We might even have a think about some of the spring festivals. She's after having a hard season so she definitely needs a bit of a break. we got away with it today out there; in an ideal world with a classy horse with her ability, you'd be better off on better ground. We'll steer clear of the bottomless, torturous, ground. After Fratas (IRE) finished 1st at Fairyhouse on Tue, 7th Nov 2023 2m Maiden Hurdle Heavy

Quotes on Grey Leader (IRE)
he’s a very honest horse. He probably wasn’t in love with the ground but that’s the type of horse he is - workmanlike and does a good job. I don’t know what calibre of race it was but he’s a horse that we like a lot. I’d say that will be it for the year. He’s in the sales but whether he goes or not I’m not sure. After Grey Leader (IRE) finished 1st at Gowran Park on Mon, 16th Oct 2023 1m Flat Heavy

Quotes on Independent Expert (IRE)
I ran five horses in Gowran the last day she ran and they all ran worse than the other but the ground was terrible and sticky. She likes soft ground but couldn't go on it that day and now three of those horses have won since, so it was just one of those things. I gave her a break, she is fit and well now and tomorrow morning I'll enter her in a Galway festival handicap on the Tuesday. If she gets in, we'll take our chance and if you're not in, you can't win. After Independent Expert (IRE) finished 1st at Killarney on Mon, 15th Jul 2024 1m Flat Hcap Good to Firm

Quotes on San Aer (IRE)
I was nervous for a moment but he said if he had to pull him up to go wide, it would have sickened the horse so he kept chancing the inside. He got a good ride, loves that ground and it couldn't be heavy enough for him. He won this race last year, is a great honest horse and keeps pulling out every day. He had a nice second last week and while he got stopped, wouldn't have won. He'll go to the Curragh on Sunday for either a E50,000 mile handicap or another race over seven furlongs. I'll chat with the owners and decide. After San Aer (IRE) finished 1st at Galway on Mon, 30th Oct 2023 1m Flat Hcap Heavy

Quotes on Timourid (IRE)
He jumps well. He’s never the bravest but fiddles away. He won a Premier Handicap two runs ago and it was too quick the last day in the Curragh. He wouldn’t want it any softer than that over jumps. The Flat lads could call that soft. He’s a bit tricky like that with the ground. The lads are from Galway and want to go there but I’m not convinced that he should be going there up that hill. He was there last year and I think it’s a track that he doesn’t love. He likes these flat tracks and he could boss it today. Something more competitive might be hard for him. After Timourid (IRE) finished 1st at Roscommon on Mon, 10th Jul 2023 1m 7f Maiden Hurdle Good to Yielding

Quotes on Tough Talk (IRE)
We've run three and they've all run as expected. I said to Colin going out, take your time, go through the gears and hit the line strong. If you win you win but if you don't we'll win the next day, simple as. He's a horse we've always liked. He took it all in and was squealing and shouting in the ring beforehand, it's the first time I've heard him roar since he came to me. It's his first time away from home and first time on grass so there should be plenty of improvement. We'll keep it local and let him tell us when and where we'll start him back but it'll be in Ireland. After Tough Talk (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Sun, 10th Apr 2022 6f Flat Maiden Yielding

Quotes on Derry Lad (IRE)
He needs that trip and he needs a good gallop,. We thought we were a good thing coming up with all the rain, and then five minutes outside Sligo it was as dry as a bone!. Soft ground is the key to him and he just about got away with it today. It was too quick for him the last day in Gowran and he never got into the race. He's very tough and he will stay further. I'd say two miles might be his trip in the end. We have him schooled and the plan was to go three-year-old hurdling with him, but when he's still competitive on the Flat we'll stay that way with him. It's a bit easier and I'll try and hold off getting the jumps licence for another bit! After Derry Lad (IRE) finished 1st at Sligo on Tue, 17th May 2022 1m 2f Flat Hcap Good to Yielding

Quotes on Desert Haven (GB)
Desert Haven was one of Paul Hunt's (previous owner) horses and he let him go at the end of the season so I bought him back myself. We did a little job on his wind which helped and he goes on any ground. It's great because his new owners had Knockmore Prince who nearly broke our hearts last year!. They wanted him to jump (hurdles) and he does actually jump so we'll see how we go during the summer. I don't know whether he'll get that trip or not though but it's great to start with a win for them. After Desert Haven (GB) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Wed, 10th Apr 2024 7f Flat Hcap Heavy

I'm delighted for Ray (McSharry) and Jim Browne who bred her. She was tough, she battled out well. She'll be a better filly with a cut in the ground but she was very brave today. We had two seconds. Ano Syra just got touched off, she ran her heart out, and Greek Flower ran a blinder, the tactics on the winner paid off going up that new strip of ground. Quotes on Elinor Dashwood (IRE)
That was very good, she had come down a few pounds,. She was very free in Naas and I decided to put her asleep in the Curragh the last day. We learned a lot from her there over six, the way she came home. I said to Ronny today to put her asleep again today and ride her cold, which he did and she relaxed really well and looks a million dollars. She quickened twice, she quickened to get to them and quickened to go away from them. It was a class ride. The step up helped her, she relaxed a lot today. The Curragh can sometimes light a horse up as it's vast and open but she relaxed really well today. She'll get further and she might go for the big fillies handicap in the Curragh, if not we could look at Galway. She'll be well able to get the hill in Galway. We've plenty to look forward to.After Elinor Dashwood (IRE) finished 1st at Gowran Park on Sun, 16th Jun 2024 7f Flat Hcap Good
