Dundalk Fri, 12th Jul, 2024  Shamsuddin Straightforward, job done today. . He had a couple of good runs. He's been coming along and might just have run into one the last time, we had no excuses. . I thought a mile around here would suit him well. Ben said there was no pace and he just let him go nice fractions, he said. He quickened up well and he did what he had to go. Ben gave him a peach of a ride. . We will probably look at a handicap now and see if we can get a three-year-olds only handicap, and bring him along that way. . He should improve a bit too, he's starting to strengthen up and mentally he's in the right place. It is a good family for us.

Curragh Fri, 28th Jun, 2024  Siege Of Troy I was very disappointed walking out of Gowran the last time, we think a lot of this one. She's a good filly, big engine and a well-bred filly. I said to Ben last time to dolly around and give her a nice kick in the belly at the bottom of the straight but she was under pressure from a long way out. She was in between horses and Ben said maybe she didn't learn as much first time out as we thought she did and maybe I'd been minding her a bit since then. I put the cheekpieces on her today just to help her travel. She's a nice filly and she will keep improving, I think. She's big and she's raw, Ben says she should get a mile-and-a-half no problem. I'm a bit happier today. When she went to the front he said she pricked her ears. He was travelling really well and he didn't want to kick on two down but he said when he asked her to go she quickened up and stole a bit in front. He said when he pulled the stick through and asked her to go she won well at the line.

Curragh Mon, 18th Mar, 2024  Procrastinate I was hoping he’d run a nice race coming here. He’s a horse that we’ve liked and didn’t run last year. Delighted that he was able to do that on debut. We came here knowing that he’d be fit, but wouldn’t be sharp. I’m happy the way he travelled through the race and picked up. Hopefully there will be plenty of improvement to come when the penny drops. I didn’t envisage him being out the first day, but he’d been training well in the spring. I think he’ll be fairly versatile ground wise. I thought that he’d handle that ground without wanting it. If I can find a winners’ race that would be nice and, if not, he may have to run in something like the Tetrarch. I think he’ll get a mile.
