Cork Fri, 26th Jul, 2024  Firebird She is a nice filly, she came from Rebecca Menzies last year and from a late Sir Robert Ogden dispersal sale. She had a good first run and luckily followed it up today. Her mother is a sister to Bluestocking, her sister was placed in the Sandringham and another sister sold for a lot of money also so it is a good Juddmonte pedigree. Hopefully there is more to come. I think she can step up a furlong and if I can find her a winners' race that would be great and the idea then would be to try for blacktype.

Roscommon Tue, 2nd Jul, 2024  La Isla Mujeres She had some nice form last year and I knew she'd come on plenty for her first run,. The ground was a bit tight that day at the Curragh and I hadn't killed her going there as she had a couple of hard years with Ralph (Beckett) and I wanted to give her a chance. They are a good farm and she was bought as a potential broodmare to add to their band. It was important she got black-type and she has, which is fantastic. She's a Listed winner now so we'll have a look at a fillies Group 3 somewhere, probably a mile-and-a-half. She has a bit of pedigree and she has plenty of ability so we'll pick our spots carefully. She has form on the all-weather and grass. I'd say she didn't like it as fast as it was at the Curragh on Guineas weekend. It's good here but it's sort of West of Ireland good and that suited her.

Leopardstown Sun, 12th May, 2024  Lope De Lilas Jim was very impressed with our filly. He thinks a lot of his filly and he thought our filly could go places. Galway is a hard place to start off a two-year-old but I wanted to get a run into her before the end of the season just to teach her something. Looking at the Guineas in England maybe I should have been going on the all-weather!. We were happy enough to wait for here, I was a little bit concerned about the ground but Colin said she flew on it. She was only getting going at the line, she went the whole way around to the mile-and-a-quarter start again. She wouldn't have had any ground like that at home and it was a learning day for her. . She has a pedigree that could be anything and we'll just keep our options open. It's easier to be in it rather than trying to get in at a late stage. We'd love to think that she's good enough to be a contender in that.
