Curragh Sun, 15th Sep, 2024  Lake Victoria we thought that she would finish second to the other filly (Bedtime Story) but Ryan's filly hit the gates and he couldn't get her back, and that was it. When that happens it's usually over. Lake Victoria is a very good filly though and went to Newmarket where she won very impressively. She's a very classy filly and is very fast. The plan was to take our time, let her relax and we didn't want to give her a tough race. Wayne gave her a brilliant ride. She's by Frankel but she's made like a sprinter and we ran her here with the thought in our heads that she could be a Cheveley Park filly. I'm delighted for Wayne. He's a great fella and he does a lot of work, day in day out, at home. He's a great rider, we're so lucky to have him here after what happened in the Irish Derby and he went through a tough time for four or five months, so nobody deserves it more. He's a great world class rider.

Leopardstown Sat, 14th Sep, 2024  Diego Velazquez He's a lovely, straightforward, genuine horse,. He has pace enough for a mile and will probably get a mile-and-a-quarter. He's a lovely relaxed, uncomplicated horse. Christophe (Soumillon) rode him (in the French Guineas) and said ''this horse is going to win a Group 1 very quick' after it. Then it just went a little bit wrong on us. We went to the French Derby, and it was the wrong thing as it was too quick. Then I went up to a mile-and-a-half at Ascot, which was the wrong thing as well. He's a speed horse, he's probably a miler that will get a mile-and-a-quarter. He could go to a Breeders' Cup Mile or the Cox Plate. Adelaide was third in a trial in France on this weekend (ten years ago) and he won the Cox Plate.

Clonmel Thu, 5th Sep, 2024  Improvista She was not right after her last run and it is great to get her back. We had taken her very slowly, but she had been working very well at home. I think she saw the stableyard, but she did it how she liked and Shane said as soon as the other horse came to her, she quickened up away. She has a Group entry at Gowran (Group 3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes) later this month, so could easily take her chance in that.

Gowran Park Wed, 14th Aug, 2024  Polemon I'm delighted with him, it was a great run from him. I'm delighted to get one so early. I'm 17 and from Poulmucka near Cahir and I went to RACE. I have to thank Denis (Hogan) for giving me the ride and for giving me the opportunities to get started.

Curragh Sat, 10th Aug, 2024  Quadruple I think this one is on the improve. She’s definitely growing and I can’t wait to keep stepping her up in trip,.

Galway Fri, 2nd Aug, 2024  Taipan I'm delighted, he hasn't run for over a year and it's great to get him back. Those conditions races are great for him. We were thinking of putting him in the amateur handicap but when he was qualified for this we decided to wait for now. I've had him ready to run for about the last six weeks but every time the ground came up too quick for him so I took him out. He just needs a little bit of an ease in the ground now in his old age. He wasn't stopping there and he'll go two miles no problem. We could have a look at the Cesarewitch and maybe the English Cesarewitch as well.

Gowran Park Sat, 27th Jul, 2024  The Euphrates Billy gave him a lovely ride, he kept it straightforward, uncomplicated, and let him find his own rhythm and just dictate his own terms. He ran well enough in the Irish Derby and finished off nicely and obviously it was a drop in class so it will be a nice confidence booster for him. We might have a look at putting him in the Voltigeur next at York and see if he turns into a Leger horse. Billy said there is no problem, he can go up in trip and is very uncomplicated. We'll just let him go back up now into group company. It's a nice win to get next to him.

Leopardstown Thu, 25th Jul, 2024  Bedtime Story I'm delighted with her, Ryan was delighted with her and said he didn't open her up,. He said she was very green and in an ideal world he would have preferred the tempo to be quicker. He said he just came there and taught her. That's exactly what we came here for, for education. It's a great place to do it. He said she's very pacey and classy and sure we saw that. I'd say you couldn't go fast enough for her. To hear him saying that he never opened her up is a good sign. That means he was only in third gear. It's great to be educating them. Last year we ran Ylang Ylang here, made the running and mentally it did her a little bit of harm for the rest of the year. We had to go back and start again. That's why we let the other filly go along in front of her today, to educate her. I thought if she was well she'd go for the Debutante at the Curragh on the way to the Moyglare. We're teaching her to relax and race. The second filly is a lovely filly and she'll step up to a mile whenever we want her.

Curragh Sun, 21st Jul, 2024  Red Letter It was no more than you probably expected from her after seeing her on debut the first day,. She stepped forward nicely and you'd expect her to win her maiden that way, so we're delighted with her. We'll see how she comes out of it before making any plans. I think it's just raw ability at the moment, I don't think she's a two-year-old and I think it's all about next year with her. We'll let her tell me what we do with her, whether we bring her back. I'll tell Barry (Mahon) what I'm seeing at home and discuss it with the (Adbullah) family about whether we come back for the Moyglare or something like that. She's done a lot quick, we are only in the middle of July. I thought I seen in the parade ring that she's very much on the leg. She looked raw going down to the start and it's pure ability what you are seeing out there.

Leopardstown Thu, 18th Jul, 2024  Diego Velazquez He ran a lovely race in the French Guineas and then we went to the French Derby with him, Ryan just said maybe over a mile-and-a-quarter we rode him too forward and the pace of the race didn't work out for him. We went to Ascot over a mile-and-a-half and we felt very much coming from Ascot that he's not a mile-and-a-half horse. He's made like a miler so he's probably and eight, nine or ten furlong horse. He loved the ground. We ran him back quick because we wanted to know where to go with him in the Autumn. Ryan said he has all the class in the world and all the speed in the world. He could be a Cox Plate horse and we'll see what we do in between with him. He's definitely not short of pace. He was different today. In the French Derby Ryan said he was caught wide and was in a position where he didn't want to be through the whole race. He came in a said 'put a line through it'. We went to Ascot and there was pace on and it was going to be a very strong run mile-and-a-half, and we felt that wasn't him. He looks like a miler. We're delighted with him. He has a lot of options and at least we know now what to do in the Autumn. We'll give him a little bit of time now.

Bellewstown Fri, 5th Jul, 2024  Comic Book The step up in trip really suited and I'm delighted with that. She stayed every yard and she really showed guts and determination towards the end. We always thought a lot of her and we had no extremes in ground today. Probably the two times she ran in Leopardstown was a bit too quick for her. It is beautiful ground there today and fair play to the team at Bellewstown who do an absolutely fantastic job. She's a lovely filly and I hope we keep progressing forward. We put her in a Stakes race in France during the week. She could take her chance in that. She is a gorgeous filly and has a beautiful pedigree. It is great to get one on the board for Zhang Yuesheng.

Curragh Fri, 28th Jun, 2024  Lake Victoria We're delighted with her. She was showing lovely work at home. It was her first day out, first day at the track, so you'd have to be very happy with her. Ryan was very happy with her. She was green and Ryan said he didn't mean to send her on as early but when she went there she started pricking her ears and waiting. She was never away and hadn't been in front that much. He said he had to make her get down and do it but he said she still had her ears pricked going to the line, that's always a good sign. Obviously she'll go into one of the good fillies races. She has loads of speed, they didn't go very fast but she still travelled very well and quickened very well. I think probably on to the Silver Flash or something like that. Obviously depending on where some of the other fillies will go and see what the lads want to do.

Naas Wed, 26th Jun, 2024  Red Viburnum she was just slow coming to hand this year so I took my time with her and hopefully the patience will pay dividends. Seven (furlongs) to a mile suits and she'll come on for it. She's going to be a fitter, sharper filly the next day. Don't be surprised if I go back to seven with her.
