Curragh Sun, 29th Sep, 2024  The Euphrates He was very well handicapped, he ended up on a good mark. His Leger run was an unbelievable run. Ryan gave him a great ride, he got a great position and was controlling it. He's an improving horse, I'd say he's a Cup horse. He stays two (miles) and he has a bit of class, he travelled very strong at all stages. They were doing 12s all the way and to do that all the way in a race like that is very difficult. It's very unusual in those distance races.

Listowel Mon, 23rd Sep, 2024  Casanova I had been placed on him in the Listed race here in 2022 and, whatever it is, he does tend to run well at this time of year. I was a bit worried with 'good' being in the going description but riding on it, I definitely thought it was on the slower side. I was happy to follow Complete Fiction going three-deep on the fresher ground and while I had planned to challenge down the middle, the loose horse ran off the bend and pushed us wider than we'd have liked. I had enough in hand to get the job done though.

Curragh Sun, 15th Sep, 2024  Lake Victoria we thought that she would finish second to the other filly (Bedtime Story) but Ryan's filly hit the gates and he couldn't get her back, and that was it. When that happens it's usually over. Lake Victoria is a very good filly though and went to Newmarket where she won very impressively. She's a very classy filly and is very fast. The plan was to take our time, let her relax and we didn't want to give her a tough race. Wayne gave her a brilliant ride. She's by Frankel but she's made like a sprinter and we ran her here with the thought in our heads that she could be a Cheveley Park filly. I'm delighted for Wayne. He's a great fella and he does a lot of work, day in day out, at home. He's a great rider, we're so lucky to have him here after what happened in the Irish Derby and he went through a tough time for four or five months, so nobody deserves it more. He's a great world class rider.

Leopardstown Sat, 14th Sep, 2024  Diego Velazquez He's a lovely, straightforward, genuine horse,. He has pace enough for a mile and will probably get a mile-and-a-quarter. He's a lovely relaxed, uncomplicated horse. Christophe (Soumillon) rode him (in the French Guineas) and said ''this horse is going to win a Group 1 very quick' after it. Then it just went a little bit wrong on us. We went to the French Derby, and it was the wrong thing as it was too quick. Then I went up to a mile-and-a-half at Ascot, which was the wrong thing as well. He's a speed horse, he's probably a miler that will get a mile-and-a-quarter. He could go to a Breeders' Cup Mile or the Cox Plate. Adelaide was third in a trial in France on this weekend (ten years ago) and he won the Cox Plate.

Clonmel Thu, 5th Sep, 2024  Improvista She was not right after her last run and it is great to get her back. We had taken her very slowly, but she had been working very well at home. I think she saw the stableyard, but she did it how she liked and Shane said as soon as the other horse came to her, she quickened up away. She has a Group entry at Gowran (Group 3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes) later this month, so could easily take her chance in that.
