Fairyhouse Sat, 14th Dec, 2024  Portarlington He jumped a bit high coming back from fences last time and ran lazily, but Josh knows him well and gave him a great ride. He didn’t let it turn into a sprint, and he’s won very well. He’ll continue to mix and there is a two-mile handicap at Dundalk in January, a 47-65, that he can go for.

Dundalk Fri, 13th Dec, 2024  The Bear Trap We are delighted to get a maiden out of him. We thought he would have won by now. He got chinned on the line here last year and he had been unlucky in a few handicaps. He ran in two handicaps up the Curragh and got stopped one day. The next day he got knocked out after two furlongs, so his race was over. He is a bit of a monkey. With the visor back on today, he put it all in. He battled well enough too. I think he was (on top at the line). When he went, Nathan put down his stick so I hope we will be okay - they are hard to get! It is great to get a win. He'll be kept going up here, we'll see what the handicapper does. He is 67 and is probably going to go up. he had come down a couple of pounds. We stuck him in this, we just said we would put him in and see what the opposition was going to be like. When they were in around 70, 71 and 72, it was winnable.

Tramore Tue, 26th Nov, 2024  Portarlington The first day we ran him in Limerick the ground was too quick for him and Keith said he didn’t come down the hill. He told us that day that he’d win the next day and he was right. We were confident coming here today and the ground was probably the only worry with it being so heavy but he has plenty of knee action and he handled it well. It’s great for the boys (Pipe Down Syndicate). It’s only their second horse win me and that’s three winners now so it’s great.

Fairyhouse Tue, 12th Nov, 2024  Portarlington that’s just his second run for me and Keith (Donoghue, brother) rode him the last day and loved him. He said he gallops and stays but didn’t come down the hill that day in Limerick on quick ground. He was good today and Josh gave him a great ride. He might go again at Navan on Sunday: the two-mile race might be a bit short for him but it’s a big stiff track.

Cork Wed, 11th Sep, 2024  Killeaney Bear We made the running in Galway, but it didn't suit and, while we didn't want to make it today, they went no gallop and we prefer a faster pace. He is a big raw horse, is 16.2hh and I think he will make a nice four-year-old. We thought he was a nice two-year-old, he always showed a bit and he is a racy looking type. He is improving all the time and we might give him one more run before the end of the season.
