Curragh Sun, 3rd Nov, 2024  Rhythm King He is very tough and genuine. I didn’t think today was going to be a day for him as he always wins going around a bend. He had a hard enough race in Galway but he’s tough and had a light weight on his back today. He’s not the biggest horse in the world and everything fell right for him. It’s great for Clare and Andrew (Lennon, owner/breeders) to win a Premier Handicap here and he’s one to look forward to for next year.

Galway Mon, 28th Oct, 2024  Rhythm King We thought he'd win early on this spring as he is ground dependent and things came right today, with proper heavy ground. He has been a bit disappointing but the drop down into the grade helped and Gavin knows him well. He's finished for the year now and I'm delighted he won, as he has great owners.

Curragh Tue, 22nd Oct, 2024  Smooth Tom He's a versatile horse and I think he'll stay two miles,. I forgot to enter him for the Irish Cesarewitch this year and I'd say it will suit him. We might run him in the Grade 3 hurdle at Down Royal on Friday week if he's alright and give him a little break then. The handicapper can't touch him there at the weights as the second is rated 86. There is also the Listed Finale Stakes back here on the last day but I'll probably run him over hurdles, he likes small fields. He ran well the last day, it was kind of a non event with Daddy Long Legs going out in front and he didn't follow him. He rode for second and got second. He was second in the Lincoln as well this year so he's very versatile. Keith Donoghue rode him in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown last year and thought he'd be an ideal horse for a Galway Hurdle but we had to give him a break at that stage. Adam is a very good rider. A few things went wrong for him this year and he's gone through a lean spell so it's great for him to get a winner. He's well able to ride.

Curragh Sat, 28th Sep, 2024  No More Porter He was very good on him. He doesn't usually back up his races and I took a chance after the other day in Listowel. Fair play to Ronny (Whelan), he didn't abuse him the other day after his chance was gone. He didn't have a hard race and came home and grubbed up well. That was a big factor to running him again. . He never runs a bad race here, it was probably my mistake going to Listowel. It's worked out now so it's not too bad. . He's been a bit unlucky and hasn't won in a few years, since we bought him. He's been second in a Galway Mile and in three or four good premier handicaps. . He's a very good horse in those big handicaps when they go fast. They went good and fast today, he hit a bit of a flat spot in the middle but he stays galloping. . He's well handicapped if we can get another pot somewhere. There is a race on the last day of the year at Leopardstown but he doesn't want it very soft either. 

Navan Sat, 21st Sep, 2024  Inishmot Prince I would have been disappointed if he got beaten the form he was in at home. Since Bellewstown, he really came on very well. He is 21lb lower on grass than he is on all-weather, but he needed every yard of it. You don't want muddling pace, he has to have something fast and something to aim at. James said he had a job pulling him up, he only got going at the end. I was going to put him in at Fairyhouse on Monday, but I just don't think Fairyhouse suits him. It is six furlongs on a bend and is just too muddling for him, he needs room. Six up the Curragh in one of those handicaps if the ground stays dry and then back to Dundalk.

Roscommon Mon, 2nd Sep, 2024  Cannes Do We have only two horses for the Flat and both have won now, so we're delighted. She's a home-bred - she took a while to get organised last season, but this season she knows her job quite well and she's on the up. She might be for sale, if someone is interested. I don't know where we go next with her, but Chris said there are a good few races left in her, so we'll see. That was probably a bit tight distance-wise, but she got a good ride. He took his time, he just had to let her get organised halfway up the straight and when she did ,he said she ran on for him.

Bellewstown Tue, 27th Aug, 2024  Cherry Pink It is hard to plan with these horses. That is only her second run for me, I bought her off Michael Halford not that long ago. She wasn't overly expensive, but they are great fun horses these type of horses. She was small money and somebody had pointed her out to me and said she could be worth taking a punt on. She will be a good fun filly in Dundalk through the winter as well. She's a strong filly and a nice-looking filly as well. She'll definitely go to the beach in Laytown. I'll have three or four, maybe five for the beach. I think she won with a nice bit in hand there and I hope he (handicapper) is not too hard on her, but he can't be with these type of horses. He (Caffrey) gave her a good ride and needed that win as well.

Roscommon Tue, 20th Aug, 2024  Come On The Lads he did it nicely there and I'm delighted to get the win. He's very straightforward and once Timourid (leader) folded, it was straightforward from there on. Whether he's going to a new home or not now remains to be seen. We can't make plans until we see what happens next.

Gowran Park Wed, 14th Aug, 2024  Smooth Tom he's not fully fit and he said he blew up a furlong down. It's his first run back, he's been away on a break since Punchestown and should improve a good bit. That could leave him right for the Petingo Handicap on Champions Weekend hopefully. I also had in the back of my mind the English Cambridgeshire, he's better on a straight track so a straight mile on soft ground there could suit. The ground would have been plenty quick enough for him there. We'll maybe go for some of those decent handicap hurdles too along the line. we gave him a break after Punchestown because he had been on the go all year. He won his maiden hurdle in Listowel, then won his novice and we kind of had no choice but to keep going in his novice season. We ran him in a Grade 1 when the ground was bottomless in Leopardstown and he actually ran well. He's only back in about seven weeks.

Naas Mon, 5th Aug, 2024  Apercu We weren't sure about the ground but we felt we had to try her. She was very tough, Billy gave her a great ride and put her in a great position. . I thought three out I thought we might be in trouble but he said she was just barely doing enough and she clicked into gear. . To be fair she started to go away. We do think she stays further but this opportunity just presented itself today. We'll look at options from here. . She didn't seem to be doing an awful lot and I think that's what got her beaten at Down Royal, with a tricky track she was slower to get going.  . Billy put her in a better position today to make sure she had no excuses. I think the cheekpieces helped her and I liked her attitude.

Naas Wed, 24th Jul, 2024  Nituna it's the very first runner for the Making Memories Racing Club who leased her from the Mugs Syndicate - it's a great start but it is all downhill from here!. Robyn felt confident that she was going to get there. She was very comfortable how the horse was travelling and said she loved hitting the bit of traffic. She's a funny filly as at home she goes off and does her own thing and in some ways she's not the most straightforward. The rain came in time for me as she hated the ground in Ballinrobe and never travelled a yard, it was just too fast for her that day. I don't think she's a Galway horse, she likes a nice big open track so we'll have a look and see what the handicapper gives her and go from there.
