Kilbeggan Fri, 12th Jul, 2024  Idas Boy He got a great tune out of him because he wasn’t going early but he got him going and got him jumping. Going around the outside probably helped him to do that and the fact they went very quick he stayed on well. You would have to admire the jockey, a 5lb claimer, the ride he gave him. That’s the first time he’s rode for me and he was exceptional on him as he wasn’t simple. He had a hard job getting him stoked up. He is a very good horse but is not the simplest horse to keep right and has had a lot of issues over the years. I think he’s had more broken bones than Paul Carberry!. Sam (Ewing) was on him at Punchestown and thought he might have won and he didn’t pick up at the fourth-last. He then went to Ballinrobe and he didn’t want to know at all about jumping. The run at Listowel the last day helped to sweeten him up a bit. If he’s sound and all goes well then he’ll go for the (Galway) Plate.

Bellewstown Thu, 4th Jul, 2024  Sugar Club She's a nice filly and we like her a lot. She had an inside draw and he (Keane) just said he would keep it simple. She had a lovely run in Leopardstown when Jamie (Powell) rode her and he minded her well. She's a lovely filly and I would think she has a future.

Curragh Fri, 28th Jun, 2024  Golden Temple When we started with him as a two-year-old we thought he was the best two-year-old we had. He's bred to be a sprinter. In fairness to Robbie Colgan he rode him one day in Fairyhouse over a mile-and-a-half and rode him like that and just got touched off. He probably was a bit weaker last year than he is now. He belonged to Paul and Patricia Hunt and at the end of the year a few of them had to go as Paul had passed on. Albert (Dravins) asked me if there was anything worth buying and we always felt he was some good and that he could win a race somewhere. He jumps very well and he has improved. He stays very well. He keeps at it and I told Jamie if he was going well he was going too slow because he'd need to get the rest of them off the bridle and at it because he just keeps galloping. If you waited for them they'd go past him. I watched the race with Paul Flynn (trainer of runner-up The Truant) and Paul beating me and I was beating him, it was very funny. His owner's partner passed away last year and they are having a charity golf day and they are all over at that. I'm sure they are watching on TV. He's probably a horse for the two-mile-five race on the Saturday at Galway. We'll have to stay at two miles whatever we do on the Flat.
