Killarney Fri, 23rd Aug, 2024  Jabbar The horses are in form, we brought down three today, were expecting a winner and this was the lad I was expecting to win. The lads from the syndicate came down with me and backed him so I'm delighted. It's great that they are all here. I don't think he was fully tuned up as he is having a proper blow so there might be another day in him hopefully. Dean Curran, who is my head lad now and is doing a fabulous job, rode him to win here last year when they got up on the line to win. He has an engine, stays and Keithen is a right kid.

Curragh Sat, 17th Aug, 2024  Goldmoyne This time last year he did a similar thing. He loves this place but getting him to the start is the problem as he gets very wound up,.

Curragh Sun, 30th Jun, 2024  Booyea The easiest part was looking at him out there. He's a real handful as you can see with him coming in there now. We had some job tacking him up. I wasn't on the ball today, I should have had earplugs or something on him. He got really upset before the race and I honestly thought that was it, race over. Fair play to him he's a good horse., he's tough. He's very revved, that's the way he is. He actually hasn't been that revved in a long time, last year he was very difficult but he settled down a lot and we thought we were past all that. He got very revved up today but I suppose it is Derby Day. Like I say I just wasn't thinking ahead. It fantastic, we had a winner at this meeting on the Saturday last year. To have a winner at the Curragh is fantastic anyway and on Derby Day is even extra.

Curragh Fri, 28th Jun, 2024  Golden Temple When we started with him as a two-year-old we thought he was the best two-year-old we had. He's bred to be a sprinter. In fairness to Robbie Colgan he rode him one day in Fairyhouse over a mile-and-a-half and rode him like that and just got touched off. He probably was a bit weaker last year than he is now. He belonged to Paul and Patricia Hunt and at the end of the year a few of them had to go as Paul had passed on. Albert (Dravins) asked me if there was anything worth buying and we always felt he was some good and that he could win a race somewhere. He jumps very well and he has improved. He stays very well. He keeps at it and I told Jamie if he was going well he was going too slow because he'd need to get the rest of them off the bridle and at it because he just keeps galloping. If you waited for them they'd go past him. I watched the race with Paul Flynn (trainer of runner-up The Truant) and Paul beating me and I was beating him, it was very funny. His owner's partner passed away last year and they are having a charity golf day and they are all over at that. I'm sure they are watching on TV. He's probably a horse for the two-mile-five race on the Saturday at Galway. We'll have to stay at two miles whatever we do on the Flat.

Fairyhouse Fri, 14th Jun, 2024  Booyea The plan was to go to Limerick last week but he had a bit of an issue and couldn’t run. I was very keen to run before we went to the Curragh on Derby weekend and there weren’t any suitable races for him so I said to the lads we’d stick him into this. We are thinking of dropping back in trip to a mile at the Curragh anyway so I said we could give him a bit of a sharpener at Fairyhouse and see how that goes.

Down Royal Fri, 31st May, 2024  Miss Meagher It just didn't happen the first day in Gowran, probably just a little bit green. We rectified things when we went home and Rory that rides her out did a good job on her at home, and got her where she is today. She did handle that quicker ground, she was very good there and Luke gave her a super ride. Luke is riding well at the moment and, when you are riding well, you get rides and winners. She stepped forward fairly well from the first day. She showed plenty at home before the first day as well, so I was expecting a big step forward (today). She's a good filly.

Roscommon Mon, 13th May, 2024  Jabbar That was a superb ride. Dean Curran is with me now, he won on Jabbar here last year and came from the next parish. I let Dean instruct Amy how to ride the horse and she did exactly what he said,. She was very polished. She restrained him early, as he was a bit free, and got cover. It was a beautiful ride and I'm delighted for her. I'm delighted for the lads in the yard as well, we have a fantastic team. We have the schooling over hurdles done with him and he'll go for a summer maiden hurdle. We'll see what the handicapper does with him here, he can't do a whole lot I suppose, and there might be another one of these if the ground is easy.
