The Raceday Stewards interviewed R.P. Geoghegan, rider of Free Flowing, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. R.P. Geoghegan accepted he was in breach of R.10.3(g) frequency and R.10.3(i) not giving his mount time to respond and he apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence and R. P. Geoghegan's record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for twelve racedays
