The Raceday Stewards received a report from Mr. Andrew Ring, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that D.J Gilligan, rider of The Mediator, weighed in at 1.3 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he could not account for the overweight. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D.J. Gilligan was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore cautioned him on this occasion
Shane Fenelon, rider of Kilkee Royal, trained by Jamie Albert Sloan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got badly hampered at the first down the back straight
J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Monsieur Azul (GB), trained by Paul Nolan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer subsequently confirmed the animal to have blood at both nostrils post race.
