Kilbeggan Fri, 23rd Aug, 2024  Native Speaker He deserved to win a maiden hurdle. He’s had some good runs in maidens and I’m delighted for Paddy Hale (owner). I’d imagine we’ll be going straight over fences as he’s a brilliant jumper. He has plenty of experience, he stays really well and is a horse to look forward to in staying chases.

Sligo Wed, 21st Aug, 2024  High Court Cave This is a smart horse and a clever horse. He was very unlucky at Galway where he clipped heels and he may just have needed the run a wee bit there. We were worried about the ground but Oran kept him wide and got the best of it. He's going to the field now and we'll have a think about what to do with him. His owner Victor McCrea is a cattle dealer and the last three horses that he's picked out himself at the sales, including this one, have all won for him. He's a good judge.

Ballinrobe Tue, 23rd Jul, 2024  Cave Court We fancied our chances today. He got a bad fall (brought down) in Down Royal and it set him back a wee bit. After that it just took him a couple of runs for the penny to drop again, but we gave him a break and he's bounced back today. He's a good genuine horse. Two and a half (miles) probably suits him better than today's trip, but he has a bit of class. Oran works with me every day and is a classy wee rider. He'll go to Galway for the 0-116 opportunity handicap hurdle on the Sunday.

Kilbeggan Mon, 17th Jun, 2024  Desert Cave That was mighty and I’m delighted for Harry who is a great supporter of ours. He’s a horse that won a four-year-old (point-to-point) and had a couple of niggly problems so Harry threw him out into a field for a year. He’s relished a step up in trip and better ground. I suppose he’ll get a good hike in the handicap for that, but it was a very weak race. I thought he was a bit of a monkey when he was running in winners’ races and he got beat in two winners. He went today but maybe not every day!

Sligo Tue, 11th Jun, 2024  Andyourbirdcansing when things are going well it is great and I'm getting great support so hopefully I'll keep it going. She's tough, stuck at it very well and going to the last, I knew I'd saved a bit. She dug deep and stayed going really well to the line. John's horses don't know when to stop. He's given me plenty of support over the years and I'm very grateful for it.

Ballinrobe Tue, 28th May, 2024  Will It Be You I'm delighted with him, Richie gave him a lovely ride and he battled well. He seemed to love the ground which is in great nick. It's his first run of the year and you're never quite sure, I felt he might just improve for it but he was in a great frame of mind.

Down Royal Mon, 6th May, 2024  Born Braver He is ground and trip versatile. It was a very messy race and they went pretty steady early and it turned into a sprint. He showed a little bit of class there although it is probably hard to weigh up off that race. You probably could go back to 2m4f, but I think he will stay 3m very well. I think he will make into a nice chaser at some stage.
