Wexford Wed, 7th Aug, 2024  Jazzy Matty you could say he hasn't risen a gallop since he won in Cheltenham and he has been very disappointing. We bought him for €50,000 and knew the ability was there, so it was just a matter of getting it out of him. we just said we'd fill him with confidence today, ride him for luck and it was just about getting his confidence back. Thankfully it worked out.

Cork Sat, 11th May, 2024  Maxi Mac Gold this (Maxi Mac Gold) is the horse I fancied more than my other rides today, as he is very very genuine and is such a good ride. I think cheekpieces might actually help him because he is a little lairy although I think it is through greeness. He rides like a classy type of horse and his winter form would put him far superior today. He is a very scopey, very nice horse who does everything well. He always raced behind the bridle and over two-miles it was a problem but over three it is a plus as he switches off really well. He's a horse you'd look forward to jumping a fence with.

Punchestown Fri, 3rd May, 2024  State Man It's so simple to ride this lad and that's probably why I have such a soft spot for him. You can leave the weighroom, get to the start, make it up as you go along and he'll get you out of trouble. He's not flashy, he does what he has to do and that's probably why he keeps winning because he keeps a little bit in the locker. When you're riding him, you're confident on him and then you just have to keep him up to his work. We were wondering what tactics Jack would use and the game went according to how we thought it would go. He just did what he normally does, pulled it out when he needed to pull it out. Paul said there was a cameraman on the line and he stopped to have a look and prick his ears at him. That's the sort of horse he is, he's just got lots of talent and he keeps doing it which is huge. He's very uncomplicated, he's uncomplicated in his stable, he's an old pet.
