Dundalk Fri, 1st Dec, 2023  A Piece Of Heaven he's a good horse and the plan now is to give him a break and bring him back at the start of the Flat next year. Hopefully he can progress to Royal Ascot. He won well enough today to pick any of those handicaps in Royal Ascot - that's what you are hoping for and he will stay all day. there are lots of lads telling me to go jumping now but he is still progressing on the Flat so why not use that and wait until he is older to go jumping. They are all mad for me to jump him but I won't go jumping yet. Our horses are all for sale if someone comes in and are usually sold by now!

Galway Sun, 29th Oct, 2023  Magical Annie I'm from up north in Inishowen in Donegal and I know Oisin Orr and Dylan (Browne McMonagle) and all the boys. I'm based with Willie Mullins and go to Barry's (Fitzgerald, trainer) every day. That's only my sixth ride and hopefully it'll continue to go well. She is a lovely filly, we gave her a break last year for the summer and brought her back with today being the plan. She is a game filly, wears her heart on her sleeve and has jumped banks in Scobie's (Aidan Fitzgerald, brother). A lot of fillies were talked about, but we were hopeful of a good run and she'll go to the Tattersalls November Sales now. Fair play to Luke as he works hard. We were gone this morning at 7am and he came in to ride out two horses before coming racing. He puts in the work and deserves the success. With the setup I have, you have to give young people a chance.

Punchestown Wed, 11th Oct, 2023  My Great Mate it’s a nice new team of people and it was a very brave performance from the horse, having been so keen during the race. If he got beaten today I was happy to go over hurdles but we may give him a break now and come back after Christmas for another bumper. We could wait as he’s only four and keep him a novice over hurdles until next season.

Gowran Park Wed, 6th Sep, 2023  A Piece Of Heaven He’s a good horse, but ground is the biggest thing to make sure it is right for him. I’m happy that he’s done the job and he’ll step forward from this. We might look at Listowel even though it will be a quick turnaround. He’ll stay on the Flat for the moment and hopefully will get a mark after this and can mix it with jumping next year. He’s a classy horse and by a good sire as well.

Downpatrick Mon, 28th Aug, 2023  Anyway It was a lovely performance. I'm very grateful to Ken for picking up the spare ride. He thought he had learned a lot. If you look at his last couple of runs in Punchestown and Wexford, the penny was slowly dropping with him. I just had to keep him up to his work today, he was still green and lugging around a bit. When he got the daylight, the loose horse helped me up the hill. He won nicely and hopefully he will improve again. It was great to get his head in front and hopefully they will have plenty of fun with him. He done it well. He is just a very green horse and Mike even said it there, he still loads to learn. He woke up after the last day a bit and had done a few good pieces of work. My auld fella will be happy anyway. I had to back him, as I get no training fees! I have to get money somewhere!. With the two meetings today, we entered him in a good few races and felt we had a right chance. As he was in such good form, we felt we had to go with him.

Sligo Wed, 23rd Aug, 2023  A Penny A Hundred She was better on the track than she has been at home. She's bred by my mother, we sent a few of our mares over to France as a bit of an experiment so she's a French-bred. I think Jukebox Jury is going to be a fantastic sire, we've plenty of well-bred horses by him and My Great Mate who won in Galway is one of his as well. She has a pedigree with lots of stamina and I'd imagine she'll be able to go up in trip over hurdles.

Galway Mon, 31st Jul, 2023  My Great Mate I thought Patrick was very good on him tactically. He gave him no help and it was a hell of a ride on a difficult horse. They were all queuing up behind and he just had enough kept in reserve. He’s well-bred but unfortunately we lost the mare.
