Navan Wed, 23rd Oct, 2024  Rosato I really fancied her the last day in the Curragh and she just ran very flat. Today I got on her in the ring and she was alive, she carted me to the start and I knew we were in business. Fillies this time of year - hit and miss, but today was a hit day!. He (Joey Sheridan on Iva Batt) got a right lead, but I thought from before it was a bit of a short runner and I might get him. My one ate up the hill, so we got there. Everything worked a treat, I needed a target. It takes a bit of getting and we were well drawn. I ride a lot of work for Charles and I'm very appreciative.

Navan Wed, 9th Oct, 2024  Rosato She got a bit stuck on the rail (in the Curragh). I'd say she was still a bit green as well, it was probably her first time trying to take a gap going forwards rather than backwards. We thought she would win (today), we put her in on Monday (at Roscommon) because we thought she might win and might need to go under a penalty. She won't go to Dundalk, she didn't like it up there so we'll keep her busy before the end of the season. Darragh was class on her, he was very clued in. I rang him last night and he knew all about her. I didn't know much about him, he was recommended to me. He's top-class now. I'd say she was still a bit green there and, in fairness, he gave her a good ride. He had to make a decision with which way to go and everything, and he did it very well.

Killarney Sun, 6th Oct, 2024  Say It So Say It So has plenty ability on his day but it is just getting him right, and today he travelled in snatches with me. Down the back straight, I had to get after him and gave him a slap down the shoulder but to be fair, I was going well turning in and knew if I got a good jump at the third-last, which I did, that I was going to get there. I have to thank Eric as I had my first winner over jumps at Listowel last Thursday, so I'm very grateful.

Cork Mon, 5th Aug, 2024  Say It So I thought it was an exceptional ride by Conor as he is a very difficult horse. He has become very slow in coming out of starting stalls and even starting his race today, he just doesn't want to know about it for the first mile. It was perseverance, without being too hard on him, that has paid off and he stays really well. I thought the extra quarter of a mile would suit but he has become so roguey at the start of his races. He flies home every day though and having run well here in the past, we came back as it suits him; it is a matter of picking the right tracks for him. Going to Wexford in two days time was also a thought of ours but with the parade ring being where it is, it would be the wrong track. The 10-member Limerick-based (Hurling Mad) syndicate is headed by Eoin Kirby and they are great enthusiasts.

Ballinrobe Tue, 23rd Jul, 2024  Boom Boom Boom It's brilliant to finally get him off the mark over hurdles. He'd been a small bit frustrating and had been finding it hard to find his form over hurdles. There was loads of pace and I just wanted to get a good start, a good jump at the first and get him into a rhythm. He jumped nicely the whole way and stayed on well after the last. He was getting plenty of weight from most of these and he'll tip away in handicaps now for the rest of the summer.
