The Stewards reviewed an incident at the second last hurdle involving Mise Raftaire, ridden by J.M. Moore and Ballyeden Lass, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, where it appeared that both horses collided in mid air and Miss Raftaire fell. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Stewards interviewed Miss P. Elvin, rider of Big Bee Hive, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In her evidence, Miss P. Elvin admitted that she had breached the guidelines on the use of the whip and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards cautioned Miss P. Elvin on this occasion.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
