The Stewards interviewed S.W. Flanagan, rider of Confusionanddelay, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the regulation
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found S.W. Flanagan in breach of Reg.10.3.(g) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his record into account suspended him for six race days in accordance with the provisions of Reg.10.6(a).
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
