Ballinrobe Tue, 23rd Jul, 2024  Black Heather He'd a great run in Kilbeggan, but we were disappointed and we just thought he didn't stay. In the meantime, he was declared to run in a mile and a half Flat maiden in Tramore and, I won't lie, I was disgusted that it was called off. But maybe it was for luck. I don't know did he just not handle the real winter ground. He's been working well and with loads of pace all year. I'm delighted to give Pa the winner and for his owners Finbar and Grainne (O'Reilly), they bred him and they've been patient with him. I'm good friends with their son Oisin, he's a farrier and is in Australia at the moment. A winners' bumper could be an option, but he will definitely run on the Flat and he's for sale.

Killarney Thu, 18th Jul, 2024  The Gray Ghost We thought he'd win the last day but Pa (King, jockey) came in and said he got his tongue over the bit. He is a devil for that so we tied down his tongue today - he has never made a noise but fiddles with it. In fairness to Pa he gave us invaluable feedback. We were wicked disappointed the last day as we think he is a fair horse and she gave him a lovely ride today. He is a big baby and is for sale. He is owned by my landlords Ray O'Connor and his partner Neasa Haverty, who are friends of mine and I'm delighted for them. It is the second time Neasa's colours have been worn and the first was by a horse which fell, when going to win a point-to-point and was sold afterwards.

Cork Fri, 5th Jul, 2024  Now So Jake He’s a lovely horse and we had the dam as well who was very good to us. . I like this horse a lot and he’s still big and weak and backward. There is a fair bit to come from him we think. . When he sees a fence he’ll be a different horse again. He’s immature. . I’m delighted for John Palmer who owns him.
