The Stewards interviewed J.G. Gilligan, rider of Uknowcarty, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, J.G. Gilligan accepted that he was in breach of the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that J.G. Gilligan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency
Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended J.G. Gilligan for seven racedays
The Stewards fined Aidan Anthony Howard, trainer, €65 for failing to fit the declared cheek pieces to Follow The Crowd, prior to entering the parade ring

O'Keeffe was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned S.F
O'Keeffe on this occasion.
