Gowran Park Fri, 4th Oct, 2024  Hollow Spark She was staying at it well on her last run over hurdles and she had a couple of solid runs before that,. Her last run on the Flat was a grand run too. Stormalong was fourth in that race and she won yesterday off 112. She was consistent so I'm delighted to get that. She seems to be effective on quick ground, I don't think she's a winter mare. She's not the biggest in the world but she has a big heart. She's in at Tramore next week but we'll have to see what the weather does.

Tramore Wed, 18th Sep, 2024  First Dare I was wiped out with a virus all winter, but the horses are healthy again. I haven't had a winner since last October, that's how bad it has been. Hopefully that's all gone now and they've been running well over the summer. We've some nice horses in for the winter and it's good to get back on track today and I'm really happy for her local owners (Sooner Or Later Syndicate). I had been getting her ready for Galway when she burst a blood vessel at home, so had to rejig things. She is tiny, only about 15.2hh, but always runs a great race here. I spotted this rescheduled meeting and said I'd start her back here and hoped that she wouldn't bleed. She is not a bleeder though and it was just a bump in the road. It was good to see her finishing so well today.

Ballinrobe Tue, 23rd Jul, 2024  Royal Hollow She only had ten stone six (pounds) on her back and we thought, if she didn't throw it away, that she couldn't get beat. She's nearly won every race she's run in but she, not the jockeys, managed to throw them all away by being too keen. I ride her out at home and have been trying to teach her to do things right. She's learning, I think. Andy wanted her to make the running today and it was probably the day to do it with all the weight she was getting. I didn't see the sectionals yet, but I'd say she went a fair gallop and didn't get an easy lead anyway. She'll probably go back on the Flat next and stick to mares' company over hurdles. The aim is to get a bit of black-type with her.
