He needs a mile and further. He tries hard and there is a lot left in him because he’s big and weak. I didn’t think he’d handle but it’s probably not too bad yet (changed to yielding after race 1). The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the final furlong involving Hope And Innocence, ridden by C. Geerdharry, placed fourth, and Fleetfootsoldier, ridden by N.M. Crosse, placed first, where it appeared interference took place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, C. Geerdharry stated that he received a small bump after the road crossing. N.M. Crosse stated that his mount got unbalanced at the road crossing and shifted slightly left. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Fleetfootsoldier had caused interference to Hope And Innocence he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Gosford, trained by Edward Lynam, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
