Curragh Sun, 3rd Nov, 2024  Two Stars He got a bit of a setback after he ran here the last day so that’s why he was missing for a while. He won well and I always felt he was a little bit better than his mark. He does need a bit of a cut in the ground, and he might be one for some of those better handicaps next year hopefully.

Galway Mon, 28th Oct, 2024  Sylkie We're a small stable, she is our stable star so we mind her and bring her to the beach, which she loves. She also loves Galway and passing horses and travelled very well and picked up well today. She likes that soft ground and is just a dream. I was very confident today and while I thought she was in trouble at one stage, she ate the hill. Today's win is nearly better than her win at the festival as everyone is here today.

Navan Wed, 23rd Oct, 2024  White Clover I am delighted with that because I don't know what happened the last day. She has never run a bad race and we said ' what has gone wrong?'. We just drew a line through it when she came home and we found nothing wrong with her. We gave her two or three days off and she came back to herself again. We always thought she would have her maiden won by now, but she is nicely handicapped so we will go for a handicap at the start of next year. I don't think there is much left for her (this year). Gary gave her a great ride - he is with me 13 years.

Navan Wed, 23rd Oct, 2024  New Theory She's tough, she is honest and she put her head down and battled. She got her turn. She had a good run here first time behind Camille Pissarro. This one is against the head probably. It helps (O'Sullivan's claim), she was getting nearly a stone off the colts which makes a big difference. Horses run for him. He is a nice kid and I know his father well - his dad worked for my dad, so we go back a long way. He comes in on school holidays and things, and is a good, hard-working, grounded, young fella.

Navan Wed, 23rd Oct, 2024  Bodhi Bear He is (going the right way) and he hit the gates well there today again. He won well and was a long way clear of the third. He should be a better horse next year.

Leopardstown Sat, 19th Oct, 2024  Sigh No More She got a lovely ride from Mikey and the race set up very well,. She's as tough as nails, she's progressive and she's never run a bad race. I'm delighted to win a big pot and a group race for a big ownership group, a lot of them are here today. She's gone well on a better surface as well so she's very versatile ground-wise but she does certainly handle soft conditions. There is a big team of people in the filly and everyone will get a great kick out of it. She's been a model of consistency. We've had a great year with her so far and it's great to finish it off with a big win.

Navan Wed, 9th Oct, 2024  Sweet Thing She had a wee setback earlier on and just coming out now, but we always liked her. Travels very well, behaves very well. Very nice run at Down Royal - the rain came and it literally went to quite testing ground, so she handled that but obviously inexperience beat her first-time out. Today it was very simple. Billy looked to have loads in hand, looked to have the race in control. The only danger was our other horse coming!. We liked him (runner-up Keepcalmandsailon), I think ground was a big issue there (Down Royal), he just was literally caught out by the testing ground. He has improved vastly for that. We did expect him to be able to show this sort of ability.

Cork Tue, 1st Oct, 2024  Alessia Fernanda She has had some good runs all summer and she tries hard every day. She is a grand filly, deserved that and the ground was a little quick for her the last day but she still ran a good race. She was back a furlong in distance today and won nicely. To win with 10st1lb always takes a bit of doing, no matter what the grade, and we're delighted with her. Ben (Curtin) has had horses with us for years, had a winner with us at Galway last year so it is lovely to get another for him.

Listowel Mon, 23rd Sep, 2024  Relevant Range Darragh was cool out, as he said the horse was flat out the whole way. He's not the most genuine but he just got him travelling enthusiastically and his 10lb claim was worth so much. We have a connection with the O'Sullivans as we have known Danny (father of the winning jockey) for years and Mam (Edwina Finn) gave Darragh his first 12.2hh pony to go racing and he won two races on him. He is a really good jockey and I'd say he will go jumping eventually as he is tall. We had a winner at last year's festival with Racing Royalty, who is in tomorrow but the ground will be too fast for him; I'll take this win!

Navan Sat, 7th Sep, 2024  Grande Marques She ran well the first day in the Curragh and met a bit of interference. Then she was free in that Group 2 (at the Curragh) and she was free a bit in the Ballyhane race in Naas and kind of got caught in no man's land. She came up the middle of the track on her own. She's had excuses, but it is very well saying they have excuses - they have to go out and show otherwise at times. We stopped making excuses today and she won well today. We'll step her back up in grade. There is a Group 3 in Ayr in a fortnight's time and there is a race at Newmarket quite late as well, at the end of October. It is a fillies' race over six. Quick ground doesn't seen to bother her anyhow. It was a grand little pot for four runners.

Down Royal Fri, 6th Sep, 2024  The Marty Party Dylan planned to be a lot handier but, just as the gates opened, he said he just kind of reared and he ended up missing the kick. Sean Corby, representing

Naas Sun, 25th Aug, 2024  Shandy She ran well in the Listed race here the last day (in sixth) and won the race on her side. We were drawn 11 and 12 and the middle is the worse place to be, so we took a chance and it worked out. The ease in the ground helped as she needs an ease in the ground. We tried different things with hoods as she over-raced once or twice and it all came together today.

Dundalk Fri, 12th Jul, 2024  Rough Diamond He was a horse that was rated in the 90s and I couldn't believe this morning he was 10 or 12/1. He has never run against horses like that before. If they (bookmakers) are going to be silly, you have to put manners on them!. He will probably be claimed now and he will be a fun horse for somebody. Trevor (Dalzell, owner) is a great supporter and nice to get him another winner. He's having a nice drink on holidays now and is a few quid better off!
