Following a report from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. D. Cullen, the Stewards interviewed P.T
Enright, rider of Conkerall concerning his failure to obey the starters instructions. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Mr Cullen stated that Conkerall did not approach the start in a controlled manner. P.T
Enright admitted that he was the first rider to move forward and explained that he had difficulty in hearing the Starter and thought that it was in order to move forward. He added that he was instructed to jump off smart and be positive with his mount. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that P.T. Enright was in breach of Rule 208 by failing to obey the Starters instructions. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended P.T. Enright for one raceday.
