It was a good battling performance and he just started to idle then in front. He's performed well all year, he was fifth in the Guineas and has been on the go since April. He's a tough horse. He ran a very good race last time and was a bit unlucky not to win in France, he was only beaten a nose and half a length and came from way off it. He deserved to go out with a big win again and he's done us proud during the year, he's a multiple group winner and we'll look to having a very major campaign with him next year. The Stewards enquired into an incident about two and a half furlongs from the finish involving Sunchart (GB), ridden by A.J. Slattery, and Lakewood, ridden by D.P. McDonogh where it appeared that Sunchart(GB) edged left and Lakewood checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, D.P. McDonogh stated that his race was run when Sunchart(GB) rolled in and he had to take a precautionary check. A.J. Slattery stated that he was about to take a gap when it tightened and in turn he tightened Lakewood on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that A.J. Slattery was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended him for one raceday

Roche stated that his mount was tiring when he received pressure from both sides. A.J. Slattery stated that his mount was travelling well when others were tiring around him and a gap tightened when he got into it. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found A.J. Slattery was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended him for one raceday. .
