The Stewards interviewed Mr R. James, rider of Fastorslow (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr R. James accepted that he had breached the whip guidelines and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr R. James was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr R. James for three racedays
J.B. Foley, rider of Five O'Clock (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel and was pulled up
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Five O'Clock (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at the nostrils post race
E. Walsh, rider of Hes A Hardy Bloke trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount felt lame after the final hurdle and was pulled up.
