Andrew Slattery's charge is up in trip, but has contested some valuable handicap hurdles with a close second in the Lartigue at Listowel a notable effort. Harsh was trapped out wide in the Boodles at the Cheltenham Festival, but still finished fourth. A big run over this new trip wouldn't be surprising. Maroto makes his handicap debut and, as the sole representative for Willie Mullins, has to be respected. Final Orders has an obvious chance as he bids to exploit a much lower hurdle mark in relation to his chase rating. He wouldn't want too much rain, though.

I suppose on paper he was supposed to be doing that, but still it was nice to do it. If there is one guarantee, he won't be running in this race next year!. I wouldn't rule it out (a stint over hurdles now), it is worth considering. He certainly doesn't want heavy winter ground. In the Galway Plate he made a mistake and the false start was the biggest thing for him. He had a lovely position the first time if he had got away. He just didn't get a nice position and made a bad mistake (before finishing unplaced). I wouldn't rule the Galway Plate out for next year, it is a difficult race with all the hustle and bustle and he is only a small, little horse. It is not an easy task. Jody (McGarvey, on favourite Jolie Coeur Allen) was plenty keen in-behind and our lad was green in front. I was worried but Sean (Flanagan, jockey) wasn't as he had gone a good gallop. He has improved a tonne from the first day and Sean thinks he is a good horse who wants that soft ground. He jumps like a buck and has a great attitude. He had a great run the last day in Clonmel, but we were a bit concerned the ground today wasn't soft enough for him. The two-miles-two helped and he gave him a brilliant ride. We were a bit worried about the form of the horses in it, it looked to be a good bumper. I think he'll be a better horse in heavy ground. he won this race in the past and when you come here with one bullet to fire, you try and put it where you can do the most damage. We always had faith in him, he likes it here, likes that nice ground and it gives him a chance to travel and jump well. He had been running well, he had been second in a €100,000 race at Navan and was third in the Brown Lad over 2m4f. He's not getting any younger and we might have a look at a few of the summer festivals. He needs a bit of luck in running, doesn't like the argy bargy and if you can get a clear run and a bit of room he enjoys himself.
