She had a bit of experience today and I’d say two miles is as far as she needs to go. I made a few mistakes running her over two and a half. She settled there today with that kind of ride and got things her own way in front. She was that relaxed he had to wake her up a bit. We found it hard to pick between the two, we were pretty hopeful as both of them were working well. Actually, when I declared them, I thought the race was being split. If it was split, I'd have had two winners!. I thought he (Gary Halpin) would delay it as late as possible and just drop him on the line if he could, he couldn't have done much more. It was a helluva ride. He can go back over hurdles any time he wants, we'll mix and match. His owner Mark Sheasby got a touch out of this horse when he won for Paddy at Cartmel and I told him that he wouldn't be out of the first two today. I thought Paddy was very good as he hadn't much room but was very strong on him. He rode a very clever race and for a young lad, he's not too bad. You can't beat the 'flapping' (pony racing) as it absolutely crowned him as he learned so much. Paddy has six rides for me at Listowel on Saturday and, as he knows all the horses from being at home, I'll get him experience on mine instead of letting him ride for every Tom, Dick or Harry. I bought him off Mick Halford. He was running over the winter on heavy ground. He had a nice run in a maiden hurdle at Gowran one day but he just wasn't in love with that heavy ground. We ran him here the last day and he just never seemed to travel over two miles. Mick was running him over a mile-and-five to a mile-and-six on the flat and I'd say he just needs to get into his comfort zone. He picked up well tonight and I'd say he will come on again for the run. He is handicapped on the flat as well, so he could run over two miles on the flat.
