He's a very clear-winded horse and, in fairness, the lads said they had him spot on and he was in good form at home. I wasn't really worried (about being off since February) once I heard that. . He jumped a tad slow and was flat out the first four furlongs. I wanted to ride him very forward and I had to sit and suffer a bit until we turned down the back. . Once I got a bit of daylight and kept him going forward a mile out, he started to pick up. Once I got to the front on him, he got comfortable and I was able to ride a race on him. . He's a grand horse and he's very straightforward. Obviously, he stays very well and goes on any ground. He's very genuine. . I wouldn't even mind where he goes in terms of track or ground. She is a big galloping mare, travelled great and Jamie was brilliant on her and the 7lb claim was a big help. She is very consistent and a 'four-and-up' maiden suited her down to the ground because she was often being beaten by a three year old. Her mother was rated 90 on the flat and won over hurdles so she could go jumping but will have another run on the flat before the turf season is over. He was my only runner over Christmas and was one we thought might win. He’s a nice horse and since the first day he started jumping hurdles he seems to enjoy it. I think there is a four-year-old novice in Naas in mid-February and we’ll go there and give him an entry in Cheltenham. We’ll see what happens with the handicapper. He stays all day. He'd been running very consistently this year, the only middling run he had was at Roscommon when things just didn't go right for him. The rest of his runs have been solid and I think the step up in trip on the soft ground was a big plus. He's from an Aga Khan family and it's all stamina all the way back. James said he really picked up when he hit the rising ground and ended up getting there too soon. They probably had gone plenty quick and the race fell apart to some extent, but he has loads of ability. He's done plenty of schooling and jumps quick. He'll probably go for another Flat race but I'd like to get him going over hurdles before the good ones come out. We were making it with her, but he said it might be best to drop her in a little bit. On a lot of his hurdles runs, he was entitled to go very close here. He's a really, really impossible horse to predict and train because you have to train him 70 per cent of what I train the other horses. He is kept fresh all the time so you are never sure you have him fit. What a horse, I think he has won nine or 10 in total. I think he has won four or five for me and you see the size of him. He carried top weight in Tramore the last day. He seems to be better over hurdles. He'll mix it and end up in Galway I'd say either on the Flat or over hurdles. I'd say he will go to the UK as he is a novice so I might pick up a novice over there at some point. He'll probably end up at Cheltenham in October. He was there last year and actually ran a really good race. We thought we only had to turn up in Dundalk a couple of times and he didn't fire and I don't know if he is still in love with it as he was.
