I think it probably helped a lot in the very testing ground. The horses that were up there found it difficult and he probably just came with a wet sail at the end. That's pleasing as his pedigree suggests he should be better on better ground. He's probably just learning his trade and coming right at the right time of the year. We could look at Fairyhouse over Easter or back here at Punchestown with him. He's probably one we'll keep going for the summer as well. His bumper form was very good and that's why I think he will be better on better ground. It was a little bit of a surprise to win on that ground. W P Mullins, trainer
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from W.P. Mullins, trainer, following the winning performance of Milo Lises (FR) in this race, which appeared to represent an improvement on its previous run. The trainer's representative H. Kirk reported that he couldn't account for the horse's poor run last time and he was surprised by today's performance. Having liaised with the IHRB Handicapper, the Raceday Stewards considered the report and noted the explanation offered. Mr. R. Ryan, Chairman, recused himself from deliberations on this report
The Raceday Stewards interviewed B. Hayes, rider of Milo Lises (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that where his whip arm was above the shoulder this was due to becoming unbalanced after the last hurdle. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3(h)(arm above shoulder) and having taken his record into account (second offence) suspended him for four race days. Mr. R. Ryan, Chairman, recused himself from this enquiry and Mr. N.B. Wachman acted as Chairman.
