The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Silver Spear, ridden by A.J. Slattery, dead heated for third, Half Nutz, ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed first and Kokura (GB), ridden by D.E. Sheehy, dead heated for third, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Kokura had caused interference to Silver Spear and in doing so had improved its finishing position. The Stewards therefore amended the result of the dead heat and placed Silver Spear third and Kokura fourth. They took no further action
Amended result now reads: 1st: Half Nutz 2nd: Lustown Baba 3rd: Silver Spear 4th: Kokura 5th: Nullifier 6th: Not Now Zeb
An extended handicap for three years old only that at entry have run two or more times under any Rules of Racing and are eligible for a handicap rating (95 = 9st 12lbs) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 9st 12lbs and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.

Stewards Enquiry - Kokura dead-heated for third but was demoted to fourth following a stewards enquiry
