That was brilliant. He's a grand horse, all he does is sleep at home and, even here at the races, I was tacking him up and his eyes were closed. I was thinking 'would you wake up?' because it's been one of those days. They've been running alright earlier on and it's grand to get one over the line. Colin was very good on him. Finke (River) didn't get much of a run around in the last race. It's nice to keep a bit of momentum going. They are running well, we ran plenty of them up here today and claimed one in the first so it would have been an expensive day if we didn't get one.

Riccardi Medici
He's a gorgeous, big horse. He had the form to win that race, so I am delighted that he got his head in front for Michael Enright - Michael is a very good owner with us and he has been very loyal to us. He bred that lad as well. He's a horse that I think will make an even better four-year-old. He always showed us promise. We didn't think we would actually have to start off at that level with him, but that is what it has taken for him to get it together. He's not as raw or backward now as he was and the penny is starting to drop with him. He has the size and scope to improve. We might come back up (to Dundalk) and try again with him. Ultimately, he will probably be put away this side of Christmas for next year. Ronan said that was the race for him.

When he ran first time he was very green and then the next day he was even greener,. We said maybe the penny is not dropping at all so we put a pair of blinkers on him at home and he grew another leg. Seamie said he let him go at the two and it was over. It just goes to show you what can happen when a horse is mentally a little bit backward. He's very fast, he showed a lot of speed and then he quickened off it. I'm not sure if there is anything left for him. There might be a listed race in Doncaster we could look at but he might be finished for the year.

No Trouble
I'm not sure if I was the first Irish guy to use Kieran in England and he rode for me at the November meeting last year in Cheltenham. I watched him in the UK and he has a good brain and is a really good horseman. There was a gap in the market here and he has come over and he is making the most of it. I see all the good lads are using him - Gordon (Elliott) and Gavin (Cromwell), he is very good value and won't have the 5lb for long more.

No Say Ever
I'd say he hasn't been right for the last three runs. All I can say is thank God he won, or I would have been scratching my head where to go!. He has been working well again. He is so lightly raced because of the ground being so fast this summer. I would never have had him kept going through the winter but he is probably going to do a mixture of here and hurdling. He has jumped at home. His head wasn't in the right place before where it is now, I think. We'll see where we go next. Nathan has ridden him a lot at home and he knew where the winning post was! He needed the run a bit as well. For sure there is improvement to come. The owner is Noel Reynolds, my partner.

He stuck at it (last week,), he was just about ready to start off last week. He was very green last week. He's fully genuine but I don't know how far he will go. He's hardy. He's done a job off a mark of 60. That was the mark he was entitled to off last week but I would have been disappointed if he wasn't a little bit better than 60. It was whether in his first run in a handicap he would know enough to jump and run. Shane said he got an easy lead, it was only the intention to try and be handy. To end up in front and be able to stack them like that, it suited him. He could kick off the front then. We'll keep him going, I'm not sure he'll be sound enough to rattle away like some of ours. He'll be regularly frequent but he just won't be banging away like some of the others up here every week.
