In Tipperary he ran a horror of a race but he pulled a front shoe and stood on the nail. It took a few weeks to get him sound again. He ran a great race in Killarney and I'm delighted because he's a good horse. He kind of handicapped himself because things had been going wrong. Hopefully we're on an upward curve now. He's in at the Curragh on Wednesday and he'll run with the penalty. I think he's really a mile-four horse but it's just brilliant to have him back. He's a really nice straightforward horse. He's in the horses-in-training sale but now that I have him back I'm going to try and talk to John. I think he's really well handicapped but it's John's decision. The Raceday Stewards interviewed G.F. Carroll, rider of Global Energy (GB), concerning his use of the whip in latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence G.F. Carroll accepted he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found G.F. Carroll was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and in considering his record in this regard they cautioned him on this occasion.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 50-80 Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
