I had no runner for four months last summer as the horses just weren't right. That definitely helped though as they had an idle year, got dropped without running and we started our year with all our horses rated 50!. They are healthy this year and weren't last year. They weren't coughing - it wasn't a lung thing but their systems just fell apart and couldn't take work. The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the home bend involving Comfort Line, ridden by Adam Caffrey, Bridge Of Dawn, ridden by L.T. McAteer, Eloquent Arthur (GB), ridden by J.M. Sheridan, Simply Sideways, ridden by S.D. Bowen, and Duke Of Leggagh, ridden by G.F. Carroll where it appeared it got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. G.F. Carroll stated he had to check slightly after receiving pressure from his outside. L.T. McAteer stated that he received pressure from his inside and had to check. J.M
Sheridan stated that when he started to manoeuver out he felt he had plenty of room. S.D. Bowen stated that he edged slightly left turning in but felt he was clear. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found J.M. Sheridan was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for 4 Racedays
L.T. McAteer, rider of Bridge Of Dawn, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered turning for home
J.M. Sheridan, rider of Eloquent Arthur (GB), trained by Adrian Brendan Joyce, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ducked left turning in.
