Wayne gave him a brilliant ride as always,. He was in good form so we decided to enter him. It's great to have a runner here let alone a winner. I'm delighted for Maurice (Burns) as he bred him as well. He had two wide draws on his last two starts. He had improved at home and we thought we had a bit more in hand today with the good draw. We can drop him back to seven furlongs or a mile, maybe on softer ground. I'm delighted with that, it's his eighth career win,. Colin said he hated the ground but being big and strong he managed to get through it and get home. He's a very good horse on his day. From the back end of last year I've had the Buckingham Palace Stakes in my head for him. It's seven furlongs at Royal Ascot where they'll go a lick. He is a group horse and I don't imagine he'll go up for that as he was 3 or 4lb well in anyway. I'll probably keep him fresh between now and then, he runs very well fresh. He owes us absolutely nothing, he's had us all the way around the world. He's eight years of age but he's only had 37 runs. Jim's horse kept him honest there. Colin was delighted with him, he said he just took a little blow coming to the line. Today was the plan, ground or not. It's the same as a bit of work at home and we're running for a bit of prize-money. We think seven furlongs is probably his optimum trip, he gets a mile as well but more so around a bend. He can go left and right-handed. The only question I have is up a straight but he was placed at the Curragh over seven as a two-year-old. Seven furlongs on a straight would be his ideal trip, a mile at Ascot would stretch him. He's been coming along with each run this year. We stepped him up to seven the last time and he stayed on nicely. He just missed a piece of work during the week because the grass was so soft so I said to Shane to drop him in, get him to relax early and then hopefully play him late. He's a fair horse, everything went wrong that could go wrong and he still weaved his way through. Three down I was like 'oh no', it was like watching a horror movie. Billy was so cool on him, he got his spots and got out. It's onwards and upwards with him, it's exciting to have him. They are two lovely horses (Dance Night Andday who won yesterday) that have won this weekend. They both worked on Tuesday morning and you'd think coming here that both of them would run well, but you'd hardly think on Guineas weekend both of them would win. Tom Malone bought him in France and it was a great buy for Amanda (Torrens). Unfortunately, she couldn't be here today, she had to go to the north for another engagement. She was roaring the phone down and she's delighted. We'll see what the handicapper does, he's 93 today and, if there was another handicap on Derby weekend that we could eke out of him, that's a possibility. He's very versatile ground-wise and it's just lovely to have a good horse. He's a big horse with loads of scope. When he came off the lorry to us, and given his two-year-old form, he came off like a big scopey horse and not a horse that was all about two. He's simple enough at home, likes his routine. I feel sorry for Shane Foley as he's ridden all his work and won his maiden on him. He was mad to ride him but had to ride for Jessie (Harrington) and then that horse (Matter Of Fact) was taken out. The easiest part was looking at him out there. He's a real handful as you can see with him coming in there now. We had some job tacking him up. I wasn't on the ball today, I should have had earplugs or something on him. He got really upset before the race and I honestly thought that was it, race over. He actually hasn't been that revved in a long time, last year he was very difficult but he settled down a lot and we thought we were past all that. It's great to have Colin Keane on your side, he was brilliant on her. I didn't realise that it was only a nose,. It was a good performance carrying top-weight. She came out of Naas really well and she's a lovely filly to have. She's an improver and has a good temperament. She's lovely and relaxed. I walked through the barn last night and she was lying panned out, there wasn't a budge out of her. Colin said when he got to the front she pricked her ears and parked, she got idle. He knows her well, the three times she's won he's been on her. She'll probably dip her toe in a Listed race now and see where we are from there. There are a couple of different options for her. I stuck her in the Ballycorus at Leopardstown to have a look, as she's won around there before, but I'd say that will be tasty. I'd nearly go Listed before that. The horses are all going well. We worked them all on Tuesday and their scopes were clean and bloods were good. We had two fancied horses coming here today. I'm delighted, I've always loved him,. I was surprised I was able to buy him because he's a half-brother to Lady Kaya (runner-up in the 1,000 Guineas for Lavery). I met (breeder) John O'Connor and I laughed and said to him there's not a chance I'm going to able to buy a New Bay out of Kayak. . He said he wouldn't be anyone's cup of tea but when I saw him all I could see was athlete. He was a raw horse. . Class is permanent and form is temporary! It's been a while since he won but he ran a great race in the premier handicap at Cork (last month), where he finished fourth,. We ran him in the Curragh the last day where he was drawn right out on the wing and he got very upset in the stalls and he ran very freely. He was in good form and we just felt that Fairyhouse would suit him, around a bend, that he'd be able to relax and drop it, which he did. Adam gave him a good ride, he was very cool on him. The plans for the boys are that they're always over for the end of July and that's where he'll go. I had no runners in Goodwood today but felt nervous and my heart was thumping out of my chest. To have a winner here with the lads is great as I started off training for the late Tommy Staunton 28 years ago and he was a brother of (owner) John. John and Jimmy (Stauntons) are from Mayo so for them and me to have a winner here is fantastic and I've loved it. This means an awful lot and I think Tommy found the gap (in the race) and opened it up for us!.
