Following a request from broadcasters, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for a one minute delay to this race The Raceday Stewards interviewed Shane Lyons, Authorised representative for G.M.Lyons, trainer, regarding his removal of a sheepskin noseband at the start from their charge Cooler (GB). Evidence was heard from the trainers Authorised representative who stated that they apply sheepskin nosebands to their charges at Dundalk but it began to rain heavily when the runners were at the start and because of its proximity he made the decision to remove the sheepskin noseband. He added that he was unaware of Notice 23 which refers to the practice of removing a sheepskin noseband prior to a race and apologised for his genuine mistake. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that G.M. Lyons, through his Authorised representative, was in breach of N23 and having taken into consideration his clean previous record in this regard, they cautioned G.M. Lyons on this occasion.
