The Stewards requested a report from M.Halford, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Kampala Beach, placed first, as compared with its recent runs at Down Royal and Gowran Park. M.Halford reported that his charge was ridden handy but did not stay the trip at Down Royal on the 26th September. He added that his charge was dropped back in trip at Gowran Park on the 18th October but was inconvenienced by the soft ground. In his opinion, his charge had a few lengths to find on the favourite Stratacaster (GB) on their previous meeting at Dundalk on the 15th August and furthermore, handled today's surface very well. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the content of the report
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Stratacaster (GB), trained by Miss Amanda Mooney, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
G.M. Ryan, rider of Stratacaster (GB) trained by Miss Amanda Mooney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout this race
J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Invincible Ourse trained by David Kenneth Budds, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran very keen
The Stewards interviewed C. Martins, rider of Steel Queen, concerning his use of the whip in the latter part of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. C. Martins accepted that he was in breach of the whip guidelines in relation to frequency and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that C. Martins was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency and suspended him for two racedays
