Permission was given for both More Than A Feelin (IRE) and My Clementine (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start and Amerigo Vespucci (IRE) wore earplugs throughout the race.
Snooker Mccrew (GB), trained by J S Moore, was late in the Parade Ring due the gelding’s breastplate breaking and having to be replaced.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1½ furlongs out when Hatadora (IRE), placed third, ridden by Kevin Stott, interfered with On Song (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Billy Loughnane.
Stott was suspended for 3 days for careless riding for failing to correct his horse in a timely manner when it shifted left-handed onto On Song (IRE) causing that gelding to become short of room and unbalanced against the rail.
The winner, Sunny Corner (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Windsor on the 22 April 2024 where the gelding finished sixth of twelve runners, beaten by 5¼ lengths.
Stuart Kittow’s explanation that the gelding settled better on this occasion was noted.
Sunny Corner (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, David Egan reported that Snooker Mccrew (GB), unplaced, ran green, Billy Loughnane reported that On Song (IRE), which started second-favourite and finished unplaced, was denied a clear run approximately 1½ furlongs out, Taylor Fisher reported that Mbappe (GB), placed fourth, ran too free, and Trevor Whelan reported that Mrs Nell (GB), unplaced, also ran too free.
