The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Timia (GB), ridden by R. Coakley, unplaced, Invincible Queen, ridden by S.T. McCullagh, placed first and Adateformary, ridden by D.M. Melia, unplaced, where it appeared that Invincible Queen was forced to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.M. Melia was in breach of rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his previous record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned D.M. Melia regarding his future responsibilities.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards rated 45-65 Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra; for each race won. Riders - Confined to riders who have not ridden more than 10 winners under any National Hunt Rules or Rules of Racing from 26th March, 2017 to 8th October, 2017 inclusive.
