It's very hard when they get first run on you, even if they are inferior horses, to pull them back. He got there in the end. I would have been disappointed as a trainer if I had gone the whole year without winning one with him. I had a blip in the middle of the season when his bloods went all wrong and I had to back off him, and then dealing with ground and everything else. His only bad run was the Bold Lad and I don't know why, maybe because all the owners were here!. He's in tomorrow and we'll see how he is in the morning. There is also a race here on the last day for him. Edward Lynam, trainer
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident at the line involving Dagoda, ridden by Adam Caffrey, placed sixth, and Run Forrest Run, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed fifth, where it appeared there was contact between the two
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately five furlongs from home involving The Organiser (GB), ridden by D.W. O'Connor, unplaced, The Bear Trap, ridden by P.A. Harnett, unplaced, Mount Ruapehu, ridden by C. Horgan, unplaced, and Sakakawea, ridden by W.J. Lee, unplaced, where it appeared The Bear Trap ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. W. O'Connor stated that the main group was crossing over and he was brought with them and did all he could. P. A. Harnett stated that his mount usually wears headgear and backed out of it as things got tight. C. Horgan stated that the whole field was crossing over. W. J. Lee stated that he had the rail and kept straight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted P.A. Harnett, rider of The Bear Trap, trained by John Geoghegan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got wiped out at the one furlong mark
J.A. Heffernan, rider of Run Forrest Run, trained by Micky Fenton, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lugged out late on so he gave it a corrective tap down the shoulder. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
