The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr R.W. Barron, rider of My Design, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of the whip Regulation and apologised for his actions and also from the I.H.R.B. Veterinary Officer. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr. R.W. Barron was in breach of R10.3(g)(frequency)and R10.3.(f)(force) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 11 racedays
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Pure Sirloin, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have a superficial abrasion to his left fore fetlock and to have a wound to his right fore coronary band
S.W. Flanagan, rider of Pure Sirloin, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the second last.
