The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.G. Gilligan, rider of Old Chap, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found J. G. Gilligan in breach of R.10.3(b) in that he used his whip when out of contention and having considered his record in this regard they cautioned him on this occasion
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Old Chap trained by Paul John Gilligan was lame on his right hind post race.
