At the request of the Stewards, J.S. McGarvey, rider of Weihnachts, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped poorly on his previous run when pulling up and was competitive today in what he felt was a slowly run race, but got underneath the third last and last fence before being outpaced on the run to the line
At the request of the Stewards, D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Royal Reve (FR), trained by T.M. Walsh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount is a very big animal that was out paced for much of the race before staying on past tired horses in the closing stages
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fivecardstud, trained by J.T.R.Dreaper, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal

An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards that have not won a steeplechase before 5th May 2019, other than one hunters steeplechase within the previous two National Hunt seasons (116 = 11st 10lbs) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall not be less than 11st 10lbs Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won.
