Permission was given for Motawaazy (GB) and Another Angel (IRE) to both go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final ½ a furlong involving the winner, CAPTAIN’S BAR, ridden by Kieran O’Neill; Lady Celia (GB), unplaced, ridden by Rowan Scott; Motawaazy (GB), placed fifth, ridden by William Pyle and Phoenix Star (IRE), placed second, ridden by Lewis Edmunds.
O’Neill was suspended for 3days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction when insufficiently clear of Motawaazy (GB) causing Pyle to ease and move slightly off his intended line resulting in Scott and Edmunds both being moved slightly off their intended lines.
Approaching the final furlong Lady Celia (GB), unplaced, moved slightly right-handed at the same time as Phoenix Star (IRE), placed second, edged left-handed moving Field of View (IRE), unplaced, off its intended line, resulting in the weakening Another Angel (IRE), unplaced, to be checked when short of room.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Phoenix Star (IRE).
Kieran O’Neill, the rider of the winner CAPTAIN’S BAR, struck Phoenix Star (IRE), placed second, ridden by Lewis Edmunds, once over the nose with the whip, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was considered to be accidental and had not improved the placing of CAPTAIN’S BAR.
