Dundalk Fri, 17th Nov, 2023  Golden Sandbanks Robert said he was way too keen, so it was a good performance. We are going to keep him on the Flat until Christmas and then he is going to go over hurdles in Leopardstown on the third day over Christmas. He is going to try 2m4f over hurdles. He'll probably have a break then and we'll see what happens. We trained him in the summer last year and he suffered from allergies, but he doesn't really like soft ground so it is tricky.

Leopardstown Sun, 22nd Oct, 2023  Givemehoperosa She's a fine filly, she had a setback on her second run in Gowran and we had to be patient,. I was worried that we might run out of time, as she's a turf filly really, but thankfully she backed up well after Naas last Sunday. I think she's a filly that will progress again for a winter under her belt, she's still a big frame. She's genuine and tough and a nice one to look forward to next spring. She seems to like those conditions, she's tough enough and honest enough to run in those conditions as well which counts for a lot. It was a very good ride. I'd say another furlong will definitely be no problem and you never know she might be a mile-and-a-half filly in time.

Galway Tue, 12th Sep, 2023  Golden Sandbanks my horses haven't been running well due to a low-grade virus and it's only over the last seven or eight days that they have run well. This horse actually suffers from allergies, lives in the field and I think he got away with it. I think it could be dust-related - there was a lot of barley cut beside me recently and whether or not it's a coincidence or not I'm not sure. But a few ran better in the last few days.

Cork Wed, 6th Sep, 2023  Han Solo We put blinkers on him at home last Friday and we couldn't hold him!. I couldn't see the first three furlongs (of the race) because of the sun, so I was listening to the commentator and hoping he was looking at the right horse. He (Powell) said to drop him back to six (furlongs) and we will look to Listowel now.
