The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Politicianspromise, trained by M.P. Collins, for failing to comply with the provisions of Rule 90 (i) (late to present animal)
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Brazos (USA), ridden by K.J
Brouder, placed first and Folcano (FR), ridden by J.W. Kennedy, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings. They did however find K. J. Brouder in breach of rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered K. J. Brouder's record in this regard the Stewards suspended K. J. Brouder for two racedays
At the request of the Stewards, D.F. O'Regan, rider of Wa Wa, trained by D.M. Christie, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was coming off the back of a very disappointing run and was ridden today to get home in the testing conditions. Furthermore he added that he was instructed to drop his mount in but was then unable to make up ground in the straight.
