An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Glistening Nights (FR), placed second, ridden by Jack Garritty, Buttercross Flyer (IRE), unplaced, ridden by William Pyle and Fly Pass (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Clifford Lee.
Garritty was cautioned for careless riding as he had moved left-handed when insufficiently clear, causing minor interference to the two runners on his inside.
Rounding the bend, Buttercross Flyer (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed off the bend, despite the rider’s best efforts giving a bump to Rose Branch (GB), unplaced, and moving that filly off it’s intended line but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that there was no riding offence involved.
Following the race, Clifford Lee reported that Fly Pass (IRE), placed fifth, stumbled 2 ½ furlongs out and William Pyle reported that Buttercross Flyer (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed off the bend.
