FormscanBy Gary Carson - Solid recent form is always a plus in these claimers and MAGNETIC NORTH comes here having won a similar event at Gowran Park last month. He did well to win over a mile that day and will be better suited by stepping back up in trip. Edge Of Darkness has been running better over hurdles than on the Flat recently but his mark of 76 entitles him to respect in this kind of contest. Cordouan has been slightly disappointing in a couple of claimers recently but may appreciate going a bit further now and he is nicely treated getting 8lb from the aforementioned pair.

I told Ian not to run him and to keep him for a race in Tramore!. He is a grand horse, had a nice run in Limerick the other day and this claiming race came up. Yesterday's ground would have been perfect for him but has tightened up since. when Sheila (Lavery, trainer) had him, he was running in Premier Handicaps and Dick Donohoe got a good twist from him too.
