FormscanBy Alan Magee - STAR HARBOUR has proved a great servant to connections winning six times on the Flat including the valuable Ragusa Handicap at the Curragh on Irish Derby day this year. He’s lightly raced over hurdles but has been placed in a Leopardstown maiden and switches back over obstacles off a nice mark. The Noel Kelly-trained pair Gamigin and Coastal World both won last time at Kilbeggan and Ballinrobe respectively while Tell Us This has been knocking on the door in similar events and was far from disgraced last time at the Galway Festival. Baltinglass Hill recorded a third career win at Roscommon this summer and is another to note.

he has been a great horse, the lads have had a lot of fun with him. We had made entries for him next week but that win might stop us running him, as he'll get a 7lb penalty. A win is a win though and we're delighted. Adam gave him a good ride and while I thought we were in trouble early on, he would prefer further, although in the past had been placed in Lincolns and Galway Miles. He isn't slow-slow but is a typical Sea The Stars being a late developer. It was a return to form but we fancied him at Roscommon when he didn't left himself down on the ground,. He ran a good race though and was only beaten fourteen lengths. Oran said he just didn't feel it the last day and was jarry a wee bit. He said he travelled today and was different gravy. We fancied him as he said if he had a cut in the ground the last day he'd have been thereabouts. We walked the track and they did a serious job watering today. Bar Slieve Bearnagh it was an ordinary race, but he had gone up 20Ibs and I've never won 3-in-a-row in my life. He was very unlucky to get beat in Navan where it looked like he had it well won and made a mistake at the last. His jumping won the race in Killarney under a brilliant ride from Rachael Blackmore, and Darragh (O’Keeffe) was equally good on him this evening. He’s only a four-year-old but he’s growing up and learning his trade. He hasn’t won by far and hopefully won’t get a massive penalty and we’ll find another handicap for him. He settled well, I was just afraid of the ground because he was running on good ground,. He ran a blinder on the Flat at Dundalk last time, giving a lot of weight away. Dillon (Maxwell) rode him in Ballinrobe and just could not get him back. He had his race run turning in but he still ran on to finish third, which was a good run. He was unfortunate in Downpatrick, he bunny hopped the last and hung badly. He was a bit sore the next morning so he must have been feeling something. We put it down to that anyway.
