Navan Sat, 21st Jan, 2023  Path D'oroux I know there were fallers but he won the race in a nice manner. He travels lovely every day, even in the Royal Bond he travelled very well but he cut out in a matter of 50 yards. He ran a lot better in Leopardstown the last day and hopefully he's on the way back. The ground is no bother to him as he's a big strong horse and he has plenty of gears too. I suppose the owners would like to go to Cheltenham for something so we might look at one of the handicaps.

Leopardstown Wed, 28th Dec, 2022  Ile Atlantique He’s a nice sort and is just learning on the job. He was very green turning for home and when Patrick asked him, it took a while for the penny to drop up the straight. I think he’s championship bumper class so he’ll be heading down that road. He’ll probably come back here for the Dublin Racing Festival.

Leopardstown Mon, 26th Dec, 2022  Saint Roi I thought he ran very well against a horse that had already had a run in Navan. If he’d won we’d be coming here anyway so rather than running in another beginners chase, I thought let him have a crack at a good prize. He jumps well enough and he’d schooled very well in the meantime. We decided to change the tactics. JP (McManus) was wondering would he be better waited with and Mark agreed. He’s a nice prospect for the rest of the season. He’s not the biggest horse in the world but he jumps very efficiently. He’s also a lot more sensible over a fence than a hurdle. He had a hurdle rating good enough to run in championship races but was probably not a champion hurdler himself.

Thurles Thu, 1st Dec, 2022  Glengouly It was Plan A to jump out and hope that he would jump well as he has jumped well at home. I think he can jump better than he did today but he got a good start and kept it up,. I was a little apprehensive the ground was so dry but maybe it was more advantageous to us than the opposition. At Christmas you'd be looking at the Grade 1 at Limerick but I think we might look for an easier race.

Down Royal Sat, 5th Nov, 2022  Invictus Machin I was a bit disappointed with the favourite, he was under pressure a long way out, but there will be other days for him. Yes, absolutely (a nice performance). He worked well at home and we weren't sure coming here with Gordon's horse being so fancied. I would have been very disappointed if he didn't run a good solid race. I didn't get a chance to talk to Keith yet, but I imagine he was raw early on and, when he got the hang of things in the second half of the race, he showed his ability. He's a Coastal Path and a fine stamp of a horse, and will be a lovely horse next year.

Galway Sat, 29th Oct, 2022  Path D'oroux He'll come on plenty from this and he's a nice one to look forward to for the winter. He's so switched off and he'll probably sharpen up a bit from that. Mentally, he's so laid-back, which is great. I'm not sure where we'll go, but I suppose maybe Fairyhouse for the Royal Bond. He has a good turn of foot and he has gears. We won't be too excited about today but we do like him.
