Permission was given for Cafe Milano (GB) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start when Faramman (GB), unplaced, ridden by Tom Queally, interfered with Deleyll (GB), unplaced, ridden by Adam Kirby, who in turn interfered with Hot Team (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Barry McHugh, and with Curtiz (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Charlie Bennett.
Queally was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed, when insufficiently clear, carrying Kirby off his intended line resulting in McHugh having to ease and bump Curtiz (GB), who became unbalanced.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 3 furlongs out when Cafe Milano (GB), placed third, ridden by Luke Morris, interfered with Curtiz (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Charlie Bennett, who in turn interfered with Deleyll (GB), unplaced, ridden by Adam Kirby.
Morris was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as he maneuvered right to continue his run when racing alongside Bennett and Kirby, when it ought to have been obvious that such a maneuver would result in interference to both riders, who were both shifted off their intended line.
The performance of Deleyll (GB), which finished unplaced, was considered.
John Butler could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than that Deleyll (GB) may have been unsuited by being tracked wide on this occasion.
Following the race, Daniel Muscutt reported that Sing Out Loud (IRE), placed seventh, was slowly away and never travelling.
