Permission was given for Blissful Song (IRE) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
Approaching the 1 furlong marker Glorious Rio (IRE), unplaced, drifted marginally right-handed moving the quarters of The Green Man (IRE), unplaced, which shifted the gelding right-handed across the heels of Good Earth (IRE), placed fifth, causing The Green Man (IRE) to be short of room.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Fantasy Master (GB) , compared with its previous run at Kempton on 16 August 2022, where the gelding finished seventh of ten, beaten by 10 ½ lengths, was considered.
The representative of Darryll Holland could provide no explanation other than possibly returning to a track where the gelding has won twice previously.
The explanation was noted and Fantasy Master (GB) was routine tested.
The performance of The Green Man (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Joseph Parr could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than the gelding may possibly be feeling the affects of a long season.
Following the race Sean Kirrane reported that Danzan (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and Harry Davies reported that Cooperation (IRE), placed second, was denied a clear run from 2 furlongs out.
